A little rant about Reyamas models

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 24, 2012, 2:15 AM
Or Reyamas Teto models more specifically.

For those that are not aware of it yet, Reyama wrote this message attached to a nico video some days ago:

"Hello there, this is ReYaMa.
Sadly pornographic, grotesque and/or political use of my Tda Teto ReYaMa edit models was found in a Japanese video sharing site against TOS.
Thus I decided to discontinue the distribution of Tda Teto models.
Please do not redistribute the models.
The use of Tda Teto ReYaMa edit is hereafter forbidden.
You do not need to remove the work has already been posted.
Also please remove your Tda Teto ReYaMa edit models from your computer.
Thank you for understanding in advance."

Ok, sorry for the bad language but just what the hell?
I mean sure, I can completely understand he/she is upset that someone used his models in pornographic and/or grotesque ways.. And I can also understand why he/she would discontinue the distributions of his Teto models. But isn't telling peope to "never use the models again" and "delete them from their computer" being just too much? Why should the whole MMDC (that owns his/her models at least) have to suffer because one (or a few people) broke the modelers rules? It's almost like saying "Ok, this vegetarian killed a man and now has to go to jail... So why don't we lock up all vegetarians while we're at it?"

Why should a whole community have to be "punished" for what a small small minority did?

So, well I have all Teto models and I won't delete not one of them. I actally thought about making pictures with them and posting them here on DA just for the hell of it... But I don't feel like causing drama over something this silly.

When I read Reyamas "message" a few days back I firstly just laughed a bit and thought that no one would actually delete their models... But I've read about a lot of people here from DA that at least say they've done it O.o Just what?! WHY oh why would someone do that?! Assuming they still like the Teto models...? I mean there's just no way Reyama or any other person for that matter can go into their computer and see that they haven't removed the models, right? So that means as long as people don't tell anyone they have them and/or post videos & pictures with them, no one would ever know, and they can keep their models in peace and quiet.
But well, it could ofc also be in that way that these people only tell others they're deleting them for the sake of sounding like the "loyal true Reyama fans" they are, and then secretly keep them. Neither I, nor anyone else would know if they're telling the truth... but at least they look good.

I want to know what you guys feel about all of this. Do you think Reyama is over-reacting when putting up these rules regarding the Teto models? Do you think he/she is doing the right thing? Do you own any Teto models? ...and if so, are you planning to delete them and/or stop using them?

It would be rly interesting to see what everyone thinks in this matter.

...well....I can understand the being mad about it but....yeah over reaction....I dont plan on deleting them and If I feel like using them then I will, Not everyone uses them in a wrong way.
Kurochi-Aka-Chan Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2012
Just about one or two "people"?!

She/he is the most known editor of TDA Models, and do that because of some people that broke the rules? I can agree at discontinue the distribution of the models, but delete from computer???!!!!! Man, I'm not THAT crazy for do that!!

I'll keep them in my UserFile, but not posting picture or videos with them. I like to use different models to test motions just for fun, so I'll use them just to test motions, effects or poses (it's personal use, without rendering videos or pictures and none posting, so it isn't breaking the rules).

Sorry Reyama, but I think you're overreacting. I won't post anything, it's a promise.
But, I'll wait for the second order: Allow us to use the models, please.

1- I think it is overreacting asking to stop using and delete the files...I don't used them yet and now I won't have a chance QAQ I'll only show my pics to sister...thats very sad OTL
2- He all motives to stopping distribution here since it was R-18 it's not something light is very grotesque and strong when it come to children that may like Teto or even MMD
3-I have all of the Teto models plus some edits (China Teto is my favorite OWO)
4-I may stop using them (I never did) but deleting them NEVER! I love them so much to do such a thing even if the creator asks me to do it...I just can't do that with any of my models, If I have them it is because I love them a lot!! Like a BIG family//shot...and removing any of them from that circle is too sad and painful for me TT.TT
Sorry Re:Yama I respect you and your models but asking me to do something like that it's out of question...

Now you know exactly how I feel. =_=
Amenrenet Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012
I don't even have the model in question, and I am left shaking my head.
Sure, the model got used in a way Reyama didn't want. So Reyama has every right to end distribution because of that. However no one made Reyama the king of the world so he/she has NO authority, let alone ability to enforce, everyone else to delete models they already downloaded.

I respect the model makers' wishes. But I respect them within reason. If they tell me to do something crazy as part of their rules, I'm just going to laugh at them and say "sorry, but no."

After I heard about this, I made a Facebook status about it and my friend even sent me the Teto models I didn't have 8D we're so rebellious >w>

But yeah.... ReYaMa overreacted, plus some o-o the little Japanese modelers/editors/etc. need to get off their high horse and stop acting like their gods of the Internet. Okay, so I didn't delete the Teto models. What's ReYaMa going to do? Fly half across the world to find me? And if they do find me, what are they going to do? Argue? Waste of a life right there, my good sir :iconlikeasirplz:

Yeah their funny, now watch give it a month or so, that model will be given back out through a trade of some kind.
RandomDraggon Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
I'm not deleting mine that's for sure. :3 They're too cute! besides I would have to redo my entire collection category! ;A; i'm not going to that dark place oh gods no...
kaitolover00001 Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Student Digital Artist
I think Reyama overreacted. If he was that pissed what would happen if someone did that with TDA Miku? Would he say "Get rid of every TDA Miku model"
Hell no I ain't giving up my TDAs. I'm still gonna use my TDA Teto. Screw what people say I AM STILL GONNA USE MY TDA TETO!!!!! Matter of fact I'm gonna make a pic with her right now and no one is gonna stop me. Mabey I will even put a link under here.……

As much as I respect and admire Reyama, I'm not deleting the model. I may still use it for personal uses, but if Reyama wishes for us not to post anything with Tda Teto, I won't.
I think it is a bit extreme, but we still have to respect the modeler's wishes in my opinion.
But I'm not deleting the model.
Joey1058 Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
I'm thinking eventually there will be a feature where model makers will be able to assign DRM to specific works. Currently DRM still works as a heavy blanket policy that stifles everything. Then Sony will sit in the background and say "See? We told you so!".
cheese17 Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Yeah, he did over-react a bit, but I wonder if he/she really thought this through.

Ok, ending distribution is one thing, that's not so ridiculous so people might actually listen, but did Reyama really think that everyone was just going to drop dead and delete their TDA Teto models? I bet that 90% of the people with the model will still use the model regardless of what Reyama said.
RageXYZ Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
um where exactly did the "Also please remove your Tda Teto ReYaMa edit models from your computer."
come from?
if it come from [link]
then something changed? oOo'
Xoriu Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
Hahah, look at that! XD That's the same video I took the information from O.o Which means it's been changed.

Maybe he came to his senses?
RageXYZ Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
possibly 8O
but who knows?
maybe this teto thing will calm down in the future
but who knows what will happen oxo
okusee-nya Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
i wrote the same thing

but i do think it is going over the top that just ONE person did something to the model. and now EVERYONE that loves the Teto model has to suffer for ONE little video, ReYama could have asked him not to do it again, instead he went straight into the last resort (like everyone was making videos like that) and banned it from all of us?

i think it is alittle sad that He/She had to do this without sending a WARNING to the video creator. moreover, ReYama cant just tell people to stop using her. there are some stubborn people out there, so might aswell leave it alone Reyama, let the world enjoy your edits!

if they make a bad video, GIVE OUT A WARNING, dont ban it. and next time PUT RULES IN THE MODEL DESCRIPTION.

i am thinking he/she didnt even put that rule in there right? i feel sorry for the new MMDers that wanted to get a TDA teto today, tomorrow, yesterday, or maybe a month from now!

caio4856 Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012
i never liked those teto edits i only got them because mainstream, and i didn't ever used one i think. if my memory doesn't fail me i already had deleted those models way before of all this.
but is this also valid for the miku edits?
Xoriu Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
No the Miku edits he made can still be downloaded from his Bowlroll account
caio4856 Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012
then everything is perfect for me~
ToBeIzumi Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012
Well, she can't expect people to listen. I mean people use illegal edits no way they are just gonna stop.
kochmann799 Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
plus he offered that message with a video showing tda teto dance!
thats like rubbing it in to those that didnīt get the models at al! l
Music-And-A-Beat Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012
o3o I didn't even edit a TDA teto model
Zatsune-sama Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012
that just overacting i think..

Just because of ONE video which used his Teto model with pornographic sense.. He just..upset??

well.. if i were him.. And know that happens to me.. i'll never be overacting like that..
except... i found more than 20+ pornographic video which used my model there

lol, my english is not well too *asdfghjkl* =w=
NyaNyang Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Maybe it wasn't a small amount of people, maybe it was a lot. That's why he/she reacted that way.
Though having your hard work ruined and turned into something you never wanted to see/expect is pretty bad, and makes you think "I bet there are more people doing this...?". The model is kinda popular too so I wouldn't blame him/her for putting that message up. But he/she should have expected certain people breaking the easy to follow rules.

Unless he/she was actually joking... it wouldn't be funny.
Reyama whyyy....? D:
Sylrien Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Writer
To discontinue distribution of the models is a perfectly agreeable way to deal with it though I agree with you, telling a person that they are forbidden to use or possess the models is overreaction.
dug-chi Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Artist
i think he take it too hard, it's only one video for god sake just get it to be deleted
ememdee-43 Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Writer
Reyama-kun is too overprotective for his models. I think we should understand him though I also agree your point of view. It's like a classroom scene where one student did something wrong then the whole class gets scolded.

The best way this could be solved is by contacting Reyama himself. What he will say will solve everything.
YourFaceLooksFunny Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
Oh for god's sake.

Yet again a mega over-reaction in the MMDC.

It's like telling everyone who owns an iPod to throw it away because one or two people made parody videos of it.

If he/she distributed the model they should have been prepared for a couple people to go against the rules because that's just life, and we can't stop it no matter how many times he/she ragequits about it. They couldn't have honestly thought that every single person would follow her rules.... right?
I mean sure if I had the model I wouldn't have done anything like that with it but there are obviously going to be some people who think 'screw that' and do whatever they want because some people just aren't that nice. But ruining it for everyone else is a bit of an over-reaction.

*end of rant*

Its all overreacted. i keep them, and use them A LOT.
I dont care. He can never ever call the cops on me cuz they arent interested in such thing here.

so why stop?
minagi-megurine Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Artist
I think I've got the ReYaMa school version and normal version of Teto...
I don't remember if I have more, I don't really use them that much but well.
I'll keep 'em.
LunaFurude Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Well yes, that's overreacting. And there would be a lot of ppl who won't delete it from their computer (that includes me). Like you said, it's not like they'll go see in each computer on Earth if the person deleted the model. :iconfacepalmplz:
